Ralph & Da-rell's Watering Hole is our ceremonial grade matcha — first-harvest Japanese leaves, shade-grown and stone-milled into a powder fine enough to whisk into a clean, luminous green cup. Smooth, sweet, no bitterness to hide from. The kind of steady, all-morning energy that gets you out the door and down to the water.

What it tastes like

Silky and balanced. Sweet umami up front, fresh young greens through the middle, a creamy body and a clean finish that doesn't go chalky or grassy. Good enough to drink straight with hot water — and it holds its own against oat milk and ice.

How to make it

Traditional. Sift 2 g (about half a teaspoon) into a warm bowl. Add 2 oz of water at 175°F. Whisk briskly in a W motion for 15–20 seconds until a fine foam sits on top.

Iced latte. Whisk 2–3 g with 2 oz of warm water until smooth, pour over a full glass of ice, top with milk of your choice.

Water under 180°F. Boiling water scorches matcha and turns it bitter.

Why we made it

Not every morning is a coffee morning. Some are slower. Some come after a hard workout, or before a long day, or on the mornings when the coffee is already two cups in and you still have a lot of day left. Matcha is what we reach for then — and if it's going in our kitchen, it's going on the site.
